A short film about the question of God, made as my final project in school. God has been on my mind for as long as I can remember, all the way to today. A rollercoaster ride from growing up ultra-Orthodox to leaving religious observance left me with all kinds of thoughts about Him, and about how He's shaped my life. This film follows the rise, the fall, and the peace I found through Spinoza's idea of God.

The technique I used was a mix of 3D and 2D motion. I built the main visuals in Cinema 4D, then layered color and effects on top in After Effects, which gave each part of the film its own look and mood.

Color was a key anchor for getting the message across. I split the film into three parts: love, betrayal, and peace. In the love section, I focused on soft, warm colors, with a spiritual element woven into the message. That shifts in the second part into melancholy, cold tones, with touches of red hinting at the pain of betrayal. In the third part, the anger settles down and the colors brighten, pointing to maturity and being grounded, which by the end turn psychedelic and celebratory.

One of the hardest parts of this project was finding imagery for something so abstract. I kept coming back to questions like: what does love actually look like? What does melancholy look like? What about euphoria?

This project made me look inward and really try to understand those feelings, so I could put them on the page in the clearest way possible.
